This time, the server worked for a few minutes before a reboot then couldn't come back. I had gotten Plex working previously, then this problem appeared and I reimaged the entire OS and tried again on a fresh install. Then reinstalled: sudo apt-get install -t jessie plexmediaserver Right-click on the Setup file and click on Run as Administrator. Rm -rf /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ Locate the Plex Media Server setup file that you downloaded from the official website. Launch the application from your Applications folder. Drag the Plex Media Server application into your Applications folder. I have reconfigured the package following the uninstallation instructions: dpkg -r plexmediaserver This is the application that will build and enable your Plex library which you’ll be able to access from anywhere. If it doesnt work try clearing the cache and opening again. The Crash Reports folder contains an empty folder structure. Try opening the app after updating and without clearing cache and data to preserve your server. The logs in /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs look clean, besides also reporting the same cryptic error. This can be found through DiskStation Manager in Control Panel > Connectivity > Network > Network Interface > then click on the Interface you are using (for most its LAN 1) and your IP Address will be the second section right after Use DHCP. (manually doing the steps the service file /etc/init/nf defines) I get: 6 3000 /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application SupportĮrror: Unable to set up server: bind: Cannot assign requested address (N5boost16exception_detail10clone_implINS0_19error_info_injectorINS_6system12system_errorEEEEE) Confirm if the service is in running state: systemctl status rvice. sudo systemctl enable -now plexmediaserver. After installation, ensure the service is started and enabled. When I source /etc/default/plexmediaserver then: start-stop-daemon -start -c $PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_USER -exec /usr/sbin/start_pms After adding the repository, proceed to Install Plex Media Server on CentOS 8. Next, reboot the computer and start plex to verify this corrected the problem. I've been trying to install Plex Media Server following this guide. Fix it by either restarting your entire shield AND the plex server, or just restarting and/or force closing your Plex server. Open a terminal (Press Control Alt T) and enter sudo gpasswd -a plex plugdev Verify that plex was added to the plugdev group by entering: groups plex which should display what groups plex belongs too.
